Pneumatic Cell Collector to enable extraction of specific cell type

Description:

The “Pneumatic Cell Collector” enables the precise extraction of a desired cell type from a larger tissue section. In the first generation device, the cell collector is controlled by two foot pedals that adjust the flow of pressure, allowing the user to have both hands free to operate the microscope and handle the micro-dissection pipette. The second generation is comprised of two main components: a power box which provides the air pressure to aspirate and expel the buffer fluid and a handgrip which houses the pipette and the switches that control the power box. This device allows for easy manipulation, observation, and collection of the desired cell sample, eliminating the need to trace tissue samples with laser light, and thereby reducing the risk of sample deformation and contamination.
