xMedical Monitoring System for Automatic Administration of Insulin and Other Medications

Description:

Dr. Peter Chase has developed a receiver-controller device that can receive a signal generated by a monitoring device and control the operation of a therapeutic substance delivery device based on the signal it receives from the monitoring device. The receiver-controller can be programmed for various warning conditions that can be calibrated to suit an individual’s therapeutic intake levels. In diabetes patients, the device can be used to monitor the glucose level in a patient and automatically administer the delivery of insulin to the patient whenever their glucose levels trigger a warning condition. The device also includes an alarm system which provides a signal to the patient during a warning condition and a wireless transmitter for transmitting a signal to the receiver-controller by radio wave transmission such as Bluetooth technology.
